Activities

Tracking

A fun, calming, and concentration building class. Bring your rubber boots, pre cut hot dogs, a long line, a harness etc. You can order your equipment through the training center. (Except the rubber boots!)

Socialization

Desensitize your dog to new and distracting objects, environments, vehicles and people with and around other dogs.

Agility Fun Group

Agility is a course set up of assorted obstacles. A fun, non-regimented sport, with lots of spectator appeal. Obstacles include jumps, tunnels, a dog walk, a see-saw or teeter, an A-frame and weave poles.

Although agility is pure fun, it isn’t just a play day for your dog. Agility teaches your dog to work with you as a team member, to look to you for direction, and to enjoy your company. Here is another chance to build strong pack leadership and a great trust bond with your dog.

Directions to Classes

Hiking with Dogs

Free & Fun! This group meets spring through the fall, early mornings. The location changes weekly and should take about 1½ hours. We plan to explore more of Las Trampas and some of the adjacent watershed lands as well as the Sunol Wilderness. Diehards like me, hike in the heat, the rain, the cold, the mud….so if you are a hiking maniac too, please feel free to phone and tag along even after we put the group into hibernation.

Basic Show Ring Conformation

No dog is too young to start training for a conformation title. The show ring is an exciting place and the Center can train and prepare your dog to be competitive in the ring.

Fun Nose work for Dogs

Incorporating a variety of fun scent exercises this course helps you to understand the way air and water currents move scent, how dogs discriminate between odors and how to teach your dog to alert on scents you have chosen, how to avoid discouraging your dogs’ independent decision making process in scent work, and how to teach the dog to ignore distractions. The course is designed to teach your dog to have fun with you while using one of his strongest senses, his nose, and to find objects, discriminate between different scents, determine which scent is most recent and recognize a particular person or substances scent, play hide and seek with other dogs, and many more fun and amazing tricks.
