Dog Behavior
Cont. from page 1
Problem Solving
Problem solving is usually a matter of teaching the dog new skills and ways of dealing with situations in addition to teaching the owner observation skills, leash handling & understanding of their dogs behavior. Problem solving depends as much on training an owner as it does on effectively training the dog.
Obedience Training
Obedience training is the art of teaching a dog the proper behavior to fit comfortably into human society. Obedience training gives the pet owner the ability to control and direct their dog.
The basic obedience commands sit, stay, down, come, heel, are the stepping stones to a fun active relationship with your pet. Having an obedient well behaved animal gives you an open door to numerous activities and adventures with your dog.
Dogs enjoy obedience training. As a pack animal they are more comfortable in a clearly ordered environment. When dominated, they are less at risk for problem behavior because they are not making “decisions” which they are not equipped to make.
Obedience training strengthens the bond between owner and dog. It gives the dog a job, and helps to raise its self esteem. Effective obedience training helps rank the dog in the appropriate pack order and teaches the dog to think and solve problems.
Effective training and handling insures that our pets will be well behaved, welcome in many places, and able to participate fully in our lives.

Our free evaluation
In order to determine which of our training programs will best meet your goals, we offer a free evaluation of your animal.
During this evaluation you are able to inspect our clean, air-conditioned and heated indoor facilities, meet our staff, and watch us work with dogs.
We are a family owned and operated, full service facility. We offer boarding to our customers, and we are vet recommended.
While your dog is here for basic obedience, he or she learns to HEEL-SIT-STAY-DOWN-COME-and FINISH with voice and leash commands. Advanced work includes hand signals and starts your dog in "off leash" work. An instructional video is included with in house training. We offer several different training options. Our free evaluation will help you choose the right one for your needs:

Training for your dog
Your dog's stay at our facility enables us to establish a working relationship with him and allows us to break up negative behavior patterns by putting him in a controlled environment.
What We Teach
We teach more than a series of commands. While your dog is here he also learns an obedient attitude. By working with your dog 10-15 minutes at a time many times throughout the day, we can make the most of his ability to focus and work attentively. This allows us to train and reinforce behaviors quickly and effectively.
